We hope you are all having a great Summer so far.
The last year has been a challenge for us and now with vaccinations ramping up and available all across the Country, everyone continues to work hard to get back to our lives cautiously.
As we are opening up our center for in-person events and Balavihar, it is our responsibility to try and keep everyone safe. On behalf of Chinmaya Mission Portland, we wanted to share some of the resources available to answer questions regarding pandemics, vaccination, and reopening.
The case for full COVID-19 vaccination has become even more compelling since the message from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky warned on July 16th, 2021 press briefing of a “pandemic of the unvaccinated,” noting that the country’s seven-day average for COVID-19 cases has climbed by nearly 70 percent over the previous figure.
To maximize safety, we will need proof of vaccination for all persons 12 and above coming into the building in person. Those below 12 will continue to wear masks as mandated in the schools.
To answer COVID19 related questions and concerns, we will have a Q&A session on August 14th at 2:00 PM moderated by Dr. Swati Kakodhkar & Dr. Kishore Pathial. Signup is required to attend the session.
Following the Q&A session, we will have light snacks and a screening of the inspirational movie “On a Quest” celebrating Pujya Gurudev’s life and teachings.
You can send your question ahead of time and in case you can not attend in person, please request your proxy to be present to take notes for you.
